How to reverse a video
- Choose or drop your clip. The preview plays forward; the export is reversed.
- Check the Start and End under More options. Long clips are pre-set to the first 15 seconds so the tab does not run out of memory.
- Choose a speed: 1× for a true rewind, 0.5× for a dreamy backwards shot, 2× for a quick “rewind” gag.

Why reversing is heavier than speeding up
Speeding a clip up can be done frame by frame as the file streams through. Reversing cannot: the first frame of the output is the last frame of the input, so the whole section has to be decoded into memory first. Uncompressed, one second of 1080p at 30 fps is about 90 MB of pixels. That is why the tool defaults to 720p output and a 15-second section, and why a long reverse on a phone may crash the tab. If that happens, shorten the section.

How do I reverse a video online?

Why is there a length limit?
To play a clip backwards, FFmpeg must decode the whole section and hold every frame in memory before it can write the last one first. A browser tab can only use a few gigabytes, and phones much less. About 15–30 seconds at 720p is safe on most devices; desktops can manage more.
Can I reverse the audio too?
Yes, by default the sound is played backwards as well. Choose “Remove audio” to export a silent reversed clip you can put music under.
Can I reverse and change speed at the same time?
Yes. Pick 0.5× for a slow rewind or 1.5× or 2× for a fast rewind effect.
How do I make a boomerang-style loop?
Export the reversed clip, then place it straight after the original in your editor or in a free app like iMovie or CapCut. The forward-then-back pair makes the boomerang.
